The Hasanu are a people from the the northern, mountainous regions of Nihon-Ja. They are often taller than two metres, dark-skinned, mostly redhaired, and have prodigious amounts of body-hair. It is rumored they are fond of sweets. They are supervised and ruled by their landlord, the Senshi lord Lord Nimatsu and live in the land north of the large lake and the Uto Forest.

The Kyofu—which means "the Terror"—also lived in Uto Forest, and the Hassanu have always feared it, believing it to be a demon. However, it later turned out to be a massive snow tiger.

The Hasanu are a part of Nihon-Ja, but they have isolated themselves for a long time. After many years, most Nihon-Ja forgot about them and began to believe that the Hasanu were ferocious monsters. In truth, they were a rather peaceful people, but fearsome when rallied for war.

When Emperor Shigeru fought against the Senshi Warriors at the battle of Ran-Koshi, the Hasanu aided the Emperor’s forces and join Matsuda Sato's chant of the Emperor's name, adding their voices to the chanting of Arisaka's Senshi and the Kikori.
