The Books[]

Ranger's Apprentice[]

The novels that started it all! They center around the titular Ranger's apprentice, Will, who is apprenticed to the Ranger Halt and becomes a part of the Ranger Corps, a secretive society in the medieval kingdom of Araluen. It is based on a collection of short stories originally written by Flanagan to encourage his son to enjoy reading.

The Early Years[]

A pair of two novels from the perspective of Halt, detailing his adventures before the original series. It is preceded by the short story The Hibernian in the book The Lost Stories, which is the 11th installment to the Ranger's Apprentice series.

The Royal Ranger[]

Originally set as the final entry into the Ranger's Apprentice series, it has since been rebranded into it's own series, following the titular character, Madelyn. She is apprenticed to Will, and the story follows her adventures on her path to become a Ranger.

The Brotherband Chronicles[]

A spin-off from the original Ranger's Apprentice series, it focuses on new Skandian characters. It's from the perspective of Hal, as he and his crew embark on a variety of adventures.

Stance on Spoilers[]

In order to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information, this wiki contains details about all stories that have been officially released, be it in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, or the United States. If a story has been officially released, anywhere in the world, it may be discussed freely anywhere on this site. It's up to you to determine whether you wish to be spoiled about available stories that you personally have not yet experienced.

However, we aim to add spoiler icons to each article, warning readers about which books are discussed in that article. Users should avoid pages with content from books they have not yet read if they wish to avoid spoilers.

Calculating Ages[]

A number of characters have dates listed in the lifespan row of their infobox. All dates should be calculated using the book timeline, a fan constructed timeline of all books. By using in text references, it is possible to calculate a number of dates with this method.

The logic behind these calculations should be stated in a reference tied to the date in question; they may be explained informally, but should remain concise and polite.
